As the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) is approaching, cricket-crazy Pakistanis are wondering who will sing the much-awaited anthem for this year’s cricket extravaganza.
Informed sources told GO that young musician Abdullah Siddiqui has composed this year’s PSL anthem.
As confirmed by the PSL on its official account, Asim Azhar and Shae Gill will sing this year’s anthem. Faris Shafi will give a rap touch to the song.
This will be the second time Abdullah Siddiqui will produce the official PSL anthem as last year he, alongside Atif Aslam and Aima Baig, composed PSL 7 anthem named Agay Dekh.
Agay Dekh was stellar production with Atif Aslam delivering the kind of performance expected from a singer of his stature after a long time. The Last year’s anthem garnered over 10 million views on YouTube. HBL Pakistan Super League 8 will be played across four venues from February 13 to March 19. The Multan and Karachi-leg matches will be held from February 13-26, before action shifts to Lahore and Rawalpindi where 20 matches will be played from February 26 to March 19.
